At Voio, we’re rebuilding medical imaging for the people who rely on it every day. The data is immense, the challenges are real, and the impact is direct. If you want your work to matter — to clinicians, to patients, to the field itself — you’ll fit right in.
Role Description
At Voio, we’re redefining how radiologists work. Today, medical imaging is slowed by fragmented tools — one system to view scans, another to dictate, and another to search patient context. We’re building a unified system that connects it all: fast, intelligent, and deeply intuitive.
Our AI models originated from years of research at UC Berkeley and UCSF, but our mission goes far beyond the lab — we’re now building real-world systems that push the frontier of applied medical AI. Every line of code here helps doctors move faster, see clearer, and focus on care, not clicks.
Responsibilities
We’re looking for a Full-Stack Engineer who can bridge elegant interfaces with scalable backend systems. You’ll design, build, and deploy end-to-end features that bring our AI-powered radiology tools to life — from intuitive frontends to robust APIs and data services.
You’ll work closely with design, ML, and clinical teams to deliver fast, reliable, and human-centered user experiences that radiologists can trust in mission-critical environments.
What You’ll Do
Build intuitive, high-performance user interfaces that integrate imaging, reporting, and search into one seamless workflow.
Design and implement backend APIs and data flows to support real-time collaboration and AI inference.
Develop frontend components using modern frameworks (e.g., React, TypeScript) with a focus on usability and responsiveness.
Collaborate across engineering, ML, and product teams to translate clinical and research needs into production features.
Own projects end-to-end — from system design to deployment — with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Contribute to architectural decisions, technical reviews, and internal tooling that improve developer velocity and code quality.
Qualifications & Requirements
4+ years of professional experience building production web applications.
Strong proficiency in Python (backend) and TypeScript/React (frontend).
Experience designing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs.
Solid understanding of data modeling, authentication, and state management.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
Ability to operate independently, make sound tradeoffs, and deliver with clarity and precision.
Desired Characteristics & Attributes
Experience with real-time collaboration systems (WebSockets, streaming APIs).
Knowledge of DICOM, HL7, or healthcare data standards.
Prior experience integrating AI/ML models into production applications.
Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements in healthcare.
What We Offer
We hire for clarity, ownership, and judgment.
The ideal engineer:
Thinks in systems. Sees beyond individual tasks to how everything connects.
Executes with precision. Moves quickly without sacrificing long-term quality.
Owns outcomes. Takes responsibility across design, build, and delivery.
Builds with purpose. Writes code that improves lives, not just benchmarks.
Why Join Us
You’ll work directly with leading engineers, clinicians, and researchers from UC Berkeley and UCSF — building products that didn’t exist before. If you want to shape how AI enters the clinic, and you care about craft as much as impact, this is your team.
